| Now that it's all done, including the World Cup, what were your 5 favourite things this year?
For me, it's:
1. Being Champions!
2. Danny Mag's Superman dive for his first GF try.
3. Carl Ablett making an absolute nuisance of himself against Wigan at HQ
4. Tom Briscoe's turn around in form. He struggled for most of the season, making unforced erros in nearly every game, leading up to the semi final with Hull where they targeted him. Since that game, he knuckled down and turned it all round, culminating in a two try display at Old Trafford.
5. In the GF, with less than a minute to go in the first half, the ball went out of play for a scrum to Leeds. The players rushed to stop the clock in order to get another set of six. In that set of six, Danny Mag scored his first drop goal. The desire of the players to get as much as possible out of the half was glorious to see. As was the old Tony Smith 'jogging off past the opposition' tactic at half time.

| Whilst there were criticisms of performances this year I thought the home wins vs Wigan in the 8's and against Warrington were very good performances with good atmospheres.
The last few minutes of the final South Stamd game as we held off Saints with McGuire making the final tackle in front of the South Stand. Had a tension and relief of a playoff semi final.
Matt Parcell coming in and being excellent.
Watkins' taking on the goal kicking and doing a bloody good job of it. Landed a massive pressure one in the playoff semi, a touch line beauty after Briscoe's 2nd in the GF and a couple of tough ones in the CCSF all be it in vain in the end in that game. To go from a bit of a laugh 4th choice when he kicked vs Leigh in the final game of 2016 to landing big pressure kicks in the playoffs 12 months later is a great effort and has ended the long running discussion about needing to sign a goal kicker.
The GF of course. Every GF win has had a great atmosphere but this was one of the best as they almost felt like a nothing to lose attitude in the Leeds fans before kickoff and much more relaxed and enjoying the occasion without the same nerves as some of previous finals.

| 1. The emergence of Jack Walker - potentially a once in a generation player
2. Pulling down of the old Southstand - a relic in an era before the 2nd WW - the new stand looks amazing
3. The starting of a ladies team - well done Leeds might not embrace reserve grade but this is a positive move
4. Danny McGuire's GF performance - eclipsed any performance by any Leeds player in a GF
5. Kallum Watkins in the WC - showed he could mix it with the very best

I'm not sure details of you watching a player in the toilets should appear on a family forum. Nice to know he can perform when the pressure's on though, I guess.

| 1. Going to the Grand Final knowing we were underdogs but just happy to be in the final, then seeing the lads show everyone why they should never be written off in a final.
2. Seeing Danny and Rob off in the best possible style
3. Watching some promising talent develop through the season.
4. Seeing off the old south stand and the main stand and then seeing the start of the emergence of the new stands.
5. The look of shocked disbelief on the faces of those in Black and Orange, some of who had told us we were wasting our time coming a couple of hours earlier, as we left OT on the 7th October.

| Can't believe nobody has mentioned the mobile phone light show. First time that was done was hilarious and looked great.

| The video of the lads singing and dancing to Sweet Caroline whilst on the celebratory beers was the highlight for me.
Perfectly summed up the post grand final feelings - pure elation, and really funny to rub it into the wounds of a group of somewhat arrogant pretenders!

| Sal - the only one of yours I'd argue with was McGuire's performance being the best by a Leeds player in a GF. I'd say Burrow's 2011 was better as the opposition was tougher and he completely changed the game. Whilst McGuire played very well I'd say that Cas were the poorest opponents we've played in any of our GF wins.
I agree entirely re Watkins in the World Cup. I have no doubt at all he'd be a star in the NRL in the right team. Like a few other England players it seemed to take him a few games to realise how good he is.

Its a fair point on McGuire - I just thought he controlled the game without any assistance from Moon - it was understated brilliance.

Whilst I take issue with the lack of assistance from Moon, I agree about Danny's being possibly the best MoM GF performance. Rob's in 2011 was a couple of moments of brilliance, but Danny was amazing for pretty much the whole match. Setting up tries, scoring tries, kicking drop goals and making crucial tackles.
