Quote Dita's Slot Meter="Dita's Slot Meter" ...... Sad thing is, its very true.
For most people, its very hard to get excited about a competition that doesn't really start until September - I can imagine Tony Smith's hardest job will be to keep the players motivated in the long months until the play-offs come around.
Sally might have his tongue very firmly in his cheek when talking about the RU, but the Six Nations is what Super League struggles to be, and that is an actual competition between sides who are all capable of raising their game and competing for the title - The fact that a Wales side that was all conquering last season, is now struggling tells you that they do have a product that can keep people's attention, even if, to most on here, it is not particularly free flowing, entertaining rugby.'"
Sorry Dita's , but that last paragraph is complete cobblers
This weekend we've had a Huddersfield side that hasn't won at Stains in nearly 40 years, and they play a blinder. Stains have a team that should be eager to impress their new coach. Predictable....nah.
Widnes, who some have picked to be wooden spoonists, have won away. A spirited Cas revival today, Salford with new cash to spend, close games elsewhere. We are reminded everyweek, that anyone can beat anyone (as has been proved over the years in our sport), yet you choose to believe the BBC doctorine of the 6 Nations hyperbole. If you want to fall into that trap, that's your funeral. Personally, I believe that the 6 Nations is the most overrated thing since
Stone Roses revival
The new Bowie single
The Full Monty
Sarah Jessica Parker
Skyfall (dull...don't bother. Give me Sean Connery/Roger Moore anyday)
We're browbeaten by whoever has the rights to RU (and the broadsheets) to worship that sport. I'd rather have a shave with a cheesegrater than watch 5 seconds of it. I don't fall for the "hype", over what is "the Emporer's New Clothes", every February
Yes, in the last few seasons, teams have got used to "preparing" themselves for the play-offs, BUT, I wouldn't miss a second of a "meaningless" SL game, compared to the 6 nations "must see TV".
I wish Elvis Presley would have shot the telly, when rah-rah was on.
