| Hmmm, I get that the competition doesn't get going until the business end of the season, I also get that the six nations is on the telly. But 10k turned out to see the match earlier, so apathy doesn't entirely reign. I'm just surprised that there is not the same amount of traffic on here as there has been in previous years - hardly a mention of the Saints result, for example. I'm sure that would have resulted in a thread of its own with contributions from our own board sages, plus from Saddened, etc, as well as the Wigan lot all adding to the general banter. Miss it, really.

Maybe because the Cas fans were boring and behaved themselves.
I was hoping there would be some trouble so we could have had some threads about scum fans.
Anyway there will be some next week, or if there isn't we can make some up so we can have a good scum fan debate with the Wigan fans. I might buy one of the cheap tickets to sit in their end and throw a pie away after only taking one bite out of it, their fans will be moaning about it on their messageboard afterwards "luke at wot some Wolfs fan did, wastin good pies ee was"

| Quote sally cinnamon="sally cinnamon"Lefty you think thats bad have you ever seen the "home internationals" in rugby league
A bunch of English / Aussies half of whom are in the semi pro leagues, wearing different nations jerseys in front of crowds of 2000 in small stadiums.
The problem with some league fans is they don't watch RU but they have this bigoted view that their players are all boring talentless overhype, then when union players came over to play for us they all thought they were geniuses, Jonathan Davies, Allan Bateman, Kevin Ellis, go back further and you had Mike Nicholas and John Bevan etc.
I'm sure had the internet been around in the days when the likes of Davies, Gibbs, Bateman etc were playing for Wales league fans would have been assuring us they were all crap and nowhere near up to the standards of league players.'"
This is somewhat missing the point really. There are some bigoted fans in all sports, some in league and plenty in union - just lok at Stephen Jones. I watch quite a bit of RU (but probably nowhere near as much as Sally) and see a small number of really talented players (amidst many who lack basic skills and game awareness) playing in what is a well marketed but poor quality product. Players like the ones mentioned above will shine in either code but with the good ones you can clearly see how much better their skills would be suited to a running, passing game like League.
Anyway, this thread has been derailed enough so no more comments on union. We'll get enough of that from the BBC and the broadsheets over the next few weeks!

Sall, that's a bit unfair. I love your posts generally, but you have completely missed the mark here. I'm in no way hankering after any bad behaviour. I'm merely saying there isn't as much RUGBY related traffic on here as I would have expected, and that I miss it.

I dont like watching rugby union, as i find it dull.... I found it dull to play and even duller to watch.
I haven't seen this bigoted league fans view you talk about though, where all their players are boring and talentless.... In the past it was certainly the case that they weren't up to the standards of playing league physically.... It took Widnes 6 months to get Davies fit and strong enough to play league. I'm not so sure that this would be the case anymore... well certainly not with RU backs anyway.

| I thought Cas played well in the second half. Passed the ball well. Are Warrington plan on blowing teams out the water, in the first 40 then slack off in the second half. That's seemed the case yesterday. Hill was the best player on the pitch. 10k for the first game is a good turn out. The south was packed as well.
