Hate to admit it but Slater is a better fullback then Rads ever was. Rads was an outstanding player and could do some things better then Slater can but in attack Slater is just sensational and can do things Rads could only dream about.

Radlinski was better then the other 2 by a distance though.

there's nobody better.

What about Steve Hampson worth a mention he was truely out standing under the high ball.

Who is the best player? Billy Slater! He is amazing.

Who would I rather have in my team? Rads.

From earlier eras, Steve Hampson, George Fairbairn and Paul Charlton should also be on there.

In each case, though for different reasons, all of that lot could have given the first bunch of candidates a run for their money.

I doubt Slater could have put the display in that Radlinski did at Murryfield but then theres been displays for Australia and Melbourne by slater Rads unfortunately couldn't have come close to.

He's been the best British fullback of the past 20 years and longer but Slater would probably be our best ever if he were in our side at the moment.

Or you could go further back and select Martin Ryan. My now deceased Saints supporting father in law said he revolutionised fullback play by becoming the first real attacking fullback.
