Sign the youngsters, treat them right (educate them, give them quality accommodation and cars- doesn't have to be expensive, just organised and fair!), pay the best wages and nurture these diamonds into SL jewels- is that such a outlandish theory???

Not if you want to see 15 year-olds driving around in cars and living away from home.

Sit them down for half an hour with Gareth Ellis, and teach them that what you make out of life is done with hard graft and determination. That's a lesson worth learning.

Well obviously once they're of legal age to drive/live away.
But 17+ I think it's the way to go. We have players living together already- from speaking to Johnson recently it really bonds them as a group. We need to show that same level of professionalism and care to our young lads, clearly showing a "pathway" to the first 19.
Cas rant an rave about their "production line" but in terms of SL "stars" it sits comfortably in our shadow, what they do well however is show that clear pathway, where as we a) ship them out b) fill the team with out of date/over weight foreign second graders. This needs to change. We have the u20's sorted, we just need a coach who will blood them.

Gareth Ellis might be a bit preoccupied at the minute, although we might be seeing a lot more of another prodigal son (who could have gone further IMO- if it were not for jumping ship/injuries).

Great news . Future for our club is bright ... fingers crossed for the 26th hope we see these lads develop into SL players with Wakefield !
