Brew, at a dinner this year featuring Karl Harrison, Mark Preston, Greg Austin and a few others, Karl said he was not paid by Batley. He said he coached them for "not a penny" (his words).

When asked if he would like to coach Halifax he replied "you already have a coach, but, at some time yes, but not for free"

If this is the case would we have to pay compensation?

I guess that would depend on whether or not he has a contract.

Also, if he'd been coaching Batley for "free", he's done it for a reason, and would he walk out on them at this point of the season?

We've had this debate on this forum before. I feel i must dispel this myth that Harrison does not get paid a penny for doing the Batley job. What tosh.
He gets a very generous part-time wage as do most coaches outside of SL, partly funded by our Squadbuilder association. I should know, some very good friends of mine are on the committee of that organisation. I suppose they were lying to members at this years AGM, and the one before that?

Also at the end of the day it is none of our buisness what Batley and Karl have agreed financially or anything else.

Why get so aggressive? no one is saying anyone is lying.

The situation has obviously changed since he said what he did. (which was earlier this season)

I am just reporting what Karl said in front of at least 60 of us.

And I would not dare accuse Karl of lying!
