Good call regarding Thewlis and Dufty.

Looks like we could be trying our 'forward steamroller' game.

Not surprised Clark isn't playing. We need him but only when 100% fit.

Hopefully that pack will allow Maguire to do his stuff but as I don’t watch NRL not completely sure what he is known for. Presumably it is more than using inappropriate language.

Maguire has played a bit at hooker. So might get used a bit there tonight.

Interesting re: Thewlis.

With Luke Gale on debut, Wakefield may at least have an improved kicking game so will be a decent test for him.

Strong call from Powell, he was far from his best vs Saints. Thewlis deserves a crack at full back, has been good whenever he’s played despite being in and out of the side - sends the right message I think.

He’s strong, committed and never takes a step back, but also a huge grub in the mould of Westwood. The niggle we’ve maybe been lacking. It’s a fine balance though, and I think McGuire is being careful after his faux pas.

You don’t get to play SOO or for the kangaroos unless you’re pretty good though, so don’t judge too soon. He’s also only played in the two matches where we’ve been weaker up front and off our game. I’d like to see him when we’re at our best.

I love Dufty on attack but he had a bit of a mare v Saints & his work under the high ball has been a bit iffy at times. Thewlis has had too many head hits recently, which is a worry. Hope this all works out.

I can only remember one mistake by Dufty under the high ball. Admittedly he wasn’t great against Wigan or Saints, but then neither were the rest of the team.

Have to admit, I’ve been impressed by Dufty simply because the general consensus (probably me included) when he signed was that he wasn’t up to it. He seems to suit this Powell side well.

He's been found out under the high kick when the opposition are closing in, and I suspect unless he can improve on this teams will target him in this manner in the 2nd half of the season.
