Considering what a poor team we were on the pitch the office side were not bad in comparison. You can't build crowds with a losing team and there were a number of new sponsors. We had replica shirts and the match day kept its integrity. The real test of the office will come if crowds grow. Paul is an RL man and will add to our small board which is one of our biggest weaknesses. It is a tribute to Paul that we are still in business IMO.

Sometimes someone working for an organisation cannot be eliminated, but isn't actually wanted in his role. Perhaps he's far too eager but incompetent, or is good but has some crazy ideas, or just annoys everyone. Rather than being eliminated normally, he can get "promoted" beyond the point where he gets to do anything damaging or given a role that serves no useful functions. Or he can be given a "vitally important task" that really isn't worth the effort. Alternatively, the role assigned might be significant, but the main advantage of putting the character there is that it would be a long way from anyone else to do any damage.

Nothing the club does suprises me.......they obviously have a "master plan" to go with the "massive" marketing campaign from this year

Indeed they have, try reading DH's statement re the agreement with the RFL.

I've read it thanks......I've also seen more false dawns at the club than I can remember.....for example, Paul Blanchards comments on the attitude at the club (back office) needing to change............it hasn't, us needing more fans...we haven't, the appointment of someone he worked with at the Oval.........who added 0 fans in their first year as a marketing manager........
.....so David Hughes saying the RFL will help out, whilst welcome makes me neither confident or excited about 2011 and beyond. The RFL marketed the first WCC warm up game and made a profit.......not sure who marketed the second but it was after the one weapon the club should have used more had relocated to the states...and the gate was well down.....I also remember the RFL paying for an expert to come down once a week to help out in 2008........pretty much everything he suggested was ignored.
This promotion of PB is puzzling to say the least......given we were looking for a CEO and instead employed him as a GM........, still, you carry on thinking it'll be aright........I've watched them stagger from fiasco to farce for nearly 10 years now...nothing changes
