Shame really. After all the good work done last year this come along and detracts from that success. Just goes to show what a constant battle it is to keep a rugby league club going even in the top flight.

Check the official Crusaders website - apparently the story isn't true - they're not in administration although it does seem there are some financial concerns there.

Looks like it is just not right financially, get Widnes in now.

If they go into administration then they can't take part in Super League.
One of the RFL/SL rules is that if a club is, or has been in the past 12 months, in administration they will not be considered for Super League.
This is a hell of a mess for the RFL/SL.
They will be damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Yes, but they won't get a franchise for 2012 (and will get points deducted for 2011). Cas & Wakey must be rubbing their hands.

A shame really. Nice little away game on the doorstep for me.

I thought they made a bit of an impact in the Wrexham area and certainly saw plenty kids at the RU club with Crusaders gear when my son's team played them.

I don't think you can discount the current economic climate for being partly responsible for this. It's a tough time for all sports clubs that don't have rich benefactors, a large supporter base or some other steady income stream.

Shame after all the hard work, they are going in the right direction now though, this is just a remnant of the previously poor running of the club IMO back when they were "Celtic Crusaders".
