Read it on my phone earlier. What's he been smoking with his Salford prediction? Finishing top of the league takes consistency that is built over a number of years. Teams like Saints, Leeds, Wire, Wigan and last year Huddersfield built their sides over a number of years and had been up at the top end for a while before finishing first.

Salfords signings might be good enough to make the play offs but top of the league? Not in a million years! I thought Koucash's aim if top four was barmy!

Clarke is a well respected RL pundit who has achieved far more than in RL than you or I ever will. To call him an idiot is extremely disrespectful

I've had the pleasure of being in his company a few times, including a 1996 Australian tour and I can assure you that he is a very intelligent man.

As you probably are aware I quite like the stats side of things (probably comes from my control engineering background) so don't find Clarkes analysis as annoying as many do.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it will be interesting to compare Phil's views with actual outcome.

He is acting like an idiot, I am therefore describing him as one. His previous career as a player is irrelevant to this thread.

He is deliberately saying things to get a reaction and cause a bit of a stir. I prefer my "experts" to be honest than churn out ridiculous hyperbole and silly predictions.

I'm with long neck on this one, Clarke has spent too much time with Hemmings and Stephenson and needs to find some professional self-respect.
