| Sorry if this is off the beaten track. I am in Wakefield South Ward. I am sure I read somewhere that prospective Conservative councilor Nadeem Ahmed is pro the New market development. Is this correct and does any one know where Norman Hazell stands on this issue.

| I once ran over a politician
when the police came enquiring about his whareabouts I told them I'd buried his body.
"So the accident killed him then, he was dead" said the bobby
to which I replied
"Well he said he was OK but you know what lying Barstewards those politicians are"
Crap joke I know but it makes a good point, I would'nt vote for any of them based on pre-election promises.

| Not living in Wakefield anymore, I don't know exactly where the Wakefield South ward is, but it sounds like the other side of the city to the Newmarket development, and so it is a cheap point to pick up, as most people in that ward, I would guess, are either indifferent, because it doesn't affect them, or in support, because of Trinity or jobs. I would hazard a further guess that the Wakefield South ward is somewhere around Agbrigg, and so assumes that most people would want the club to move.
Sounds like cheap electioneering to me.

I think he can be in favour all he likes but as said, he is not in the Stanley & Outwood East ward and unless he ends up on the planning committee, then it makes little difference overall. I think you will find, once the elections are done that most of the councillors will be broadly in favour.
In term of Stanley then we know Clive Hudson is in full support & Simon Wilson would appear to be broadly in favour but has been less vocal to date. Jacqui Williams has not expressed an open opinion as she currently sits on the planning committee and is likely to continue to do so if re-elected, so she has chosen to remain silent (as she really should) but my gut tells me she will vote in favour if she is still around when it goes to committee.
As for PPC's, both Ed and Anthony Calvert have been seen to be broadly in favour of the development, but once again when the election is over, would expect both of them to very openly support. As for the Lib Dem I have know idea, but as he stands no chance of getting in, in Morley & Outwood is does not really matter what he thinks!

| On the local election front aren't the Conservatives expected to win control of the WMDCfrom Labour? This will see Box lose his position as Council Leader. YIPEE!

| None of the big 3 parties for me I trust none, as for ED Balls I asked if he was going to support the last stadium, he gave me the impression he did not care, unless it cost him his job, so A no vote from me in Outwood for Labour, Cons or Lib..

i totally agree, as much as i'd love wakefield to get the stadium, i am staying well clear of the conservatives (due to education issues they are proposing)...

| i realise that we live in a democracy so we have to put up with parties like BNP but i was shocked to see that this democracy extends to the postal address of this party for my ward being a well known wakey pub
